Compensation: $65,000 – $80,000

About the Opportunity

A well-established plastics manufacturing facility — subsidiary of a global chemical industry leader — is adding a Logistics Specialist to its operations team in Ravenna, Ohio. This role owns the full order-to-delivery cycle, serving as the critical link between customers, internal production teams, warehouse partners, and transportation providers. What You'll Do

  • Receive, enter, and maintain customer purchase orders in SAP across the full order-to-delivery cycle
  • Coordinate shipment scheduling with transportation providers and 3PL partners; track shipments and communicate delivery updates proactively
  • Monitor order status and serve as the primary communication point for customers and internal stakeholders including Sales, Production, Quality, and warehouse teams
  • Verify inventory availability and coordinate product shipments to meet customer requirements
  • Prepare and process shipping and logistics-related invoices; review transportation and vendor invoices for accuracy and approval
  • Prepare export documentation for international shipments including commercial invoices, certificates of origin, and shipping instructions
  • Resolve customer inquiries related to orders, deliveries, inventory availability, and billing
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to logistics and customer service processes

What You'll Need

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics, customer order management, transportation coordination, supply chain, or a related role
  • Background in a manufacturing, distribution, or logistics environment — required
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously across internal departments and external partners
  • SAP or comparable ERP system experience — strongly preferred
  • Experience with international shipping and export documentation — preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field preferred; relevant experience considered in lieu of degree
  • Forklift certification and/or Lean/Six Sigma knowledge a plus
