Color Design Technician (2nd or 3rd Shift)

Location: Ravenna, OH
Schedule: Full-Time | 2nd or 3rd Shift | Shift premium available
Compensation: $21–$26/hour (potentially higher for highly experienced candidates)

An industry leader in materials innovation is seeking a Color Design Technician to join their growing technical team at a new compounding facility in Northeast Ohio. This role supports lab-based color matching, quality checks, and formulation testing for specialty plastics and compounds.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with color matching or QA experience in plastics, inks, coatings, or chemical manufacturing to play a visible role in production quality and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct lab-based color matching and quality testing on compounded materials
• Support production teams with adjustments to meet precise customer specs
• Use colorimetric equipment, spectrophotometers, and blending tools
• Maintain detailed documentation and batch records
• Collaborate with operations and technical service teams to troubleshoot issues

Requirements

• Experience in color matching, color science, or lab-based formulation work
• Background in plastics, chemical, or coating industries strongly preferred
• Ability to follow SOPs, record data, and operate lab instrumentation
• Detail-oriented and process-driven with good communication skills
• Willing to work 2nd or 3rd shift in a lab/manufacturing hybrid environment
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
