Quality Engineer – Defense & Industrial Manufacturing
Location: Cincinnati, OH | Full-Time | On-Site

About the Opportunity

A highly respected manufacturing company serving the defense and rugged industrial sectors is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to support large-scale programs and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced, high-specification production environment.

This role offers a unique chance to work on mission-critical projects that make a real-world impact, with a strong focus on compliance, process control, RCCA, and customer satisfaction. Youll collaborate with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams, supporting both internal operations and customer-facing programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead quality engineering activities for major programs with tight specs and high visibility
  • Develop and implement control plans, inspection procedures, and documentation throughout the product lifecycle
  • Execute First Article Inspections, internal audits, and quality control testing aligned with ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards
  • Support root cause analysis using tools like 5 Whys, Cause-and-Effect Diagrams, and Fault Tree Analysis
  • Collaborate with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain
  • Ensure compliance with industry and customer-specific quality standards, including military specs and AS9100
  • Conduct internal/external audits, training sessions, and quality reviews
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in quality systems, paint testing, weld inspection, and other manufacturing processes

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field (ASQ, CQE, or CQT preferred)
  • 7+ years of experience in Quality or Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, SPC, RCCA, and military specifications
  • Prior exposure to AWS D1.1 / D17.1 weld standards and military paint systems is a plus
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and CMM/Laser Tracker inspection tools
  • Excellent problem-solving, organization, and communication skills
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident due to export-controlled program requirements
