RN - Cardiac :: Nights / 48 Hours / 8 Weeks

Location:  Pikeville, KY

Schedule:  48 hrs | 12-hr shifts | Nights

Contract Duration:  8 wks

Weekly Compensation (after taxes):  $2,200 - $2,400 USD

About the Opportunity

We're seeking an experienced Cardiac Registered Nurse (RN) for an 8-week travel contract in Pikeville, KY.  Qualified candidates will be well-versed and asked to provide professional nursing care to assigned patients utilizing the nursing process, within established standards and practices for assigned patients.  Will assesses and reassess young adult, adult, and elderly patients and applies the nursing process.  

Cardiac RN will demonstrate basic competency in specialized procedures/equipment i.e. -Cardiac Monitoring -Care of patients Pre/Post CABG -Care of patients Pre/Post Interventional Cardiac Procedures -Maintain/Pull sheaths -Angio seal/Vaso seal -Specialized medications/drips/Titration -ACT Machine -Sedation -Pain Management -Chest Tube care/insertion -TPN/PPN -KODA -Central Lines - IV therapy -IVADD -Infusion Therapy -Information Management -Boomerang

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes to ensure optimal patient care as indicated
  • Performs a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and re-assessments as per policy
  • Provides individualized, age-specific care that supports homeostatic regulation, hemodynamic monitoring and physiologic functioning. 4. Maintains accurate and continued nursing documentation including patient histories, conditions, treatments, responses, and assessment of changes.
  • Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity. Maintains patient confidentiality. Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of patients and families. Functions as patient advocate

Required Qualifications 

  • Associates degree in nursing required, Bachelors degree in nursing preferred.
  • RN License, CPR, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, EKG
  • 2 years relevant experience, 5 years preferred
  • Previous travel experience
