A well-established and still growing MEP consulting firm is launching its structural division and are looking for a Director of Structural Engineering to lead it. This is a once-in-a-career opportunity to walk into a Principal-track role, take full ownership of technical delivery, client relationships, and team growth, and shape the future of an emerging division inside a wildly successful firm.

Founded by a former leader at a national engineering firm, our company has grown significantly, dominating the local mechanical, electrical, and plumbing space with a reputation for speed, precision, and partnership. Structural work is already flowing in (currently contracting out). Now we need an entrepreneurial PE who's ready to build, lead, and own.

What You'll Do

• Own all phases of structural design: from concept to construction, including Revit modeling and documentation
• Drive client relationships, business development, and repeat business
• Act as lead engineer and future division head: draft, design, manage, and mentor
• Collaborate closely with our in-house MEP teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions
• Guide the hiring of drafters, EITs, and junior engineers as the team grows
• Meet with clients, review scopes, and represent the firm confidently in the field and at the table

What Were Looking For

• Licensed PE (Ohio or ability to obtain quickly) with strong leadership potential
• 5+ years of structural engineering experience (commercial, industrial, institutional buildings preferred)
• Hands-on Revit design experience 
• Strong command of design software: RAM, RISA, EnerCalc, etc.
• Confident communicator who thrives in front of clients and enjoys building relationships
• An entrepreneurial mindset; you're excited to create something and grow with it
